History

The Western Massachusetts Training Consortium was born during the tumultuous era of deinstitutionalization. The Consortium is a place where the voices of people with disablities are sought and heard and the building blocks of community life are put into place.

The Consortium works throughout the four counties of Western Massachusetts as well as on state and national stages. Founded in 1975 to prepare professionals for the movement of people with disabilies into communities. The Consortium is organized around three themes - education, advocacy and service.
